What is mini tummy tuck?
A mini tummy tuck is a more limited version of a full abdominoplasty. It targets loose skin in the lower abdomen, below the belly button, along with localized fat in that area, which is removed with liposuction.

The surgeon removes the extra skin through a low incision that is shorter than the one used in a full tummy tuck, and suctions excess fat from the abdomen. When there is some laxity, a central strip of skin can also be removed. The skin is then closed with the belly button left in place; unlike a full tummy tuck, it usually does not need to be repositioned or have its own incision.
Because the procedure is more focused, operating time and recovery are typically shorter. The trade-off is a smaller scope: it does not address loose skin above the belly button or significant separation of the abdominal muscles. Choosing the right candidate is what makes it work.
Who is it for?
It is a good option if you have a mild to moderate amount of loose skin below the belly button, a small amount of stubborn fat, and mild to moderate muscle laxity. It is common after pregnancy in women whose upper abdomen stayed firm, or in anyone with a lower-belly pooch that will not respond to exercise.
If the loose skin extends across the whole abdomen or the muscles are clearly separated, your surgeon will likely recommend a full tummy tuck instead. An in-person evaluation is what determines which procedure will give you the better result.
