Body contouring · CDMX
Firmer, smoother thighs so you can move with ease and wear what you want.
A thigh lift (thighplasty) removes excess skin and fat from the inner and upper thighs to improve their contour and firmness. In Mexico City, it is often part of body contouring after major weight loss.

Your safety

Your surgery takes place at Hospital Ángeles Clínica Londres in Roma Norte, Mexico City, under national and international safety protocols. The facility is also cardio-protected.
The doctor provides all the care you need with no additional surgeon's fees. Only extra hospital costs, if any, are covered by you.
Is it for me?
A thigh lift, also called thighplasty or thigh reduction, covers several surgical techniques that remove extra skin and fat from the upper leg to improve its silhouette. It focuses mainly on the inner and upper thigh, where skin tends to loosen with age or after significant weight loss.
Depending on how much skin needs to be removed, the incision may stay in the groin crease or extend along the inner thigh toward the knee. Through it, excess skin and fat are removed, often with liposuction to refine the contour. Operating time depends on how much tissue is removed, and the patient frequently needs to be repositioned during surgery.
As with any skin-removal surgery, the trade-off for the result is a scar. Surgeons aim to place it where it is hard to see, but it is worth discussing openly with your surgeon, along with the movement precautions recovery requires. Scars typically fade and soften over the first year.
A thigh lift is typically recommended for people who have lost a lot of weight, including after bariatric surgery, and for those whose inner-thigh skin has loosened with age, rubs when they walk, or does not respond to exercise. It is often combined with other contouring procedures such as an arm lift or tummy tuck.
If your concern is mostly stubborn fat and your skin is firm, your surgeon may suggest liposuction alone.
Before deciding, think through the logistics of recovery: for several weeks you will need to limit certain movements and wear a compression garment, so it helps to plan time off work and have help at home. If you are traveling to Mexico City, ask your surgeon how long to stay before flying home and how to move safely during the trip, since long periods of sitting and wide leg movements both need care in the first weeks.
Recovery
Swelling, tightness, and discomfort are normal. You will wear your compression garment continuously.
Recovery involves three to four weeks of restricted movement: no spreading your legs apart or bending them too far, to avoid straining the groin incision.
Your surgeon will tell you when to resume exercise and normal activity. Because the compression garment is worn for a long time, some patients find it more comfortable to schedule surgery in cooler months.
The scar matures, gradually fading and softening.
Common questions
The surgery takes 2 to 4.5 hours, depending on how much tissue is removed. It is done under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with IV sedation. It can be outpatient or include a hospital stay.

A thigh lift is typically recommended after major weight loss, including bariatric surgery, or when inner-thigh skin has loosened with age. Your weight should be stable for several months. If your concern is mostly fat and your skin is firm, liposuction alone may be enough.
Possible complications include wound separation, especially in the groin and often from movements that strain the closure, and widened scars. Infection, hematoma, fluid buildup, persistent leg swelling, or changes in sensation can also occur. Pulmonary embolism is a remote possibility.
Pricing depends on your case and is confirmed at your consultation. Your surgeon evaluates the amount of skin and fat and your skin quality, and decides how long the incision needs to be.
It depends on how your recovery goes and on your follow-up visits. The timing is defined with you at your consultation, along with how to move safely during the trip home.
