What is perioral rejuvenation?
The mouth area shows the passage of time very clearly. Lips lose volume and definition, the lip border blurs and fine vertical lines appear above the upper lip, often made worse by sun exposure or smoking. Perioral rejuvenation combines several techniques to address these changes.

To restore lip volume, injectable fillers such as hyaluronic acid are used, or fat transfer, which grafts your own fat into the lips. To reduce lines around the mouth, resurfacing is used. It can be ablative, removing a thin layer of lined skin (CO2 laser, Erbium-YAG laser, and chemical or mechanical peels), or non-ablative, working beneath the surface without removing it (intense pulsed light or radiofrequency, which typically need several sessions).
