What is lip augmentation?

The most common approach is hyaluronic acid filler, a body-compatible gel that gives immediate results and is reversible. Your body gradually absorbs it, and if needed it can be dissolved with an enzyme (hyaluronidase). Fillers come in different consistencies, softer ones to hydrate and define and firmer ones to add volume, and how long results last depends on the product and on the individual.
Another option is fat grafting, using your own fat harvested through a small liposuction from another area. It can last longer, but part of the fat is reabsorbed and results are less predictable, so it is considered in specific cases.
