Travel and recovery

Plan your trip around your recovery, not the other way around. How long you stay in Mexico City depends on your procedure, how you heal and your early follow-up visits, so your length of stay is defined with you at your consultation. Avoid booking a return flight you cannot change.

Before you travel

Share your medical history, your medications and any previous surgeries honestly, and ask which lab work you will need and when. Keep your schedule flexible, and arrange for someone to come with you, at least for the first days after surgery.

During your recovery in Mexico City

Choose lodging that is comfortable and easy to reach from Hospital Ángeles Clínica Londres in Roma Norte, where you will have your surgery. You will need rest and help with daily tasks, and your follow-up visits are in person.

Follow your surgeon's instructions on walking, garments, medications and activity, and report any symptom that worries you right away.

Flying home

Flying too soon after surgery adds risk, including blood clots, especially after longer or combined procedures. Do not fly until your surgeon has examined you and told you it is safe. Ask how you will stay in touch with the team once you are home, and what to do if you have a concern.

Travel and recovery FAQ

How long should I stay in Mexico City after surgery?

It depends on your procedure, your recovery and your follow-up visits. The timing is defined with you at your consultation, including how long to wait before flying home.

Should I travel alone?

We recommend coming with someone. For the first days after surgery you will need help with daily tasks, and having someone with you makes your recovery safer and more comfortable.

Tell me what you have in mind

Tell me whatever you'd like. If there's medical history, medication or test results, we'll go over those at the consultation — that's where they're handled privately.

We'll be in touch to schedule your consultation at the office. The diagnosis happens there — I need to see you to tell you what's really right for you, and that can't be done over a message.
